Cooperative Care Colne Valley is a community business providing high quality care to adults in our community who need help to enable them live independently at home.
Adult social care has been in crisis for years. Chronic problems of low pay and inadequate funding have combined with more recent issues arising from the pandemic, the cost-of-living crisis and brexit to create a perfect storm. Cooperative Care Colne Valley has been established as a not-for-profit community-led response focussing on bringing people together to develop a new approach to social care. Our model is designed to put the people in receipt of care, and the professionals delivering that care at the centre of everything we do. Better pay and conditions and a client-centred approach underpinned by co-operative values and principles, create a robust platform on which we can build a new way of doing adult social care.
