We are an ethical, not-for-profit community home care service and our aim is to be the best employer in the home care sector in our locality.
How do we do that? By being a community-owned and led service, working with our community, and being accountable to it. We know that delivering a good quality service requires a quality team, and it is only by being a good employer and supporting our people well, that we can build and maintain such a team.
As a member of our team you would be providing care and support to adults across the locality, helping them with all aspects of daily living. A lot of the people that come to work with us don’t have a history of working in the care sector. This is fine, as we can provide training – the key thing is having the right attitude for the role.
The people that we care for have a variety of needs , and the help we provide ranges from companionship and assistance with household tasks (cleaning, shopping, etc.) through to personal care once you are fully trained.
You will be able to go beyond meeting basic needs and be encouraged to developing meaningful and rewarding relationships with the people you support, enabling them to live a fulfilling life.
The role is varied and every day can bring new challenges. We are looking for team members who really want to make a difference and for people who want to play a part in shaping an innovative approach to social care.
We offer:
- Competitive rates of pay. We are proud to be an accredited living wage employer
- Paid travel time
- Paid training time
- Guaranteed contracted hours
- Bank hours available
- Mileage paid at 35p per mile
- Free uniforms, training and DBS checks
- A quick recruitment process
- Flexibility to fit in with you work/life balance
- 28 days holiday entitlement and statutory sick pay
- Opportunities for career progression with good support throughout
In general our minimum call to our service users is 30 minutes and we have around 10 -15 minutes between calls.
We are interested in recruiting people who are thoughtful, kind and compassionate. Experience is welcome but it’s not essential. A caring attitude is essential. You’ll have your own transport and be open to doing a bit of evening and weekend work.
What is it like to work for us?
As a small organisation, we are able to develop strong working relationships and teamwork around our commitment and passion for the provision of high-quality care.
“I started work in June and haven’t looked back! I absolutely love it. It’s so rewarding it doesn’t actually feel like a job. I have already learnt so much in the short space of time I have worked here through training I have been given”.
“It’s like working in a family, I never knew home care could be like this. After 20 years in this sector, I finally feel part of a team that really cares and supports each other.”
So if you are looking for a new challenge or change of direction, working with an innovative care organisation that is ambitious about doing things differently, we want to hear from you.
